Advanced selective
water treatment
Our technologies remove PFAS and heavy metals
Chromafora is an innovative Swedish cleantech company that has two unique water treatment technologies: the patent-pending SELPAXT technology and the patented SELMEXT method.
Both technologies are used to remove dissolved heavy metals and PFAS from water and reduce the amount of secondary waste by means of selective separation.
The SELMEXT method also reduces the need for virgin extraction of several critical raw materials, as gold and other valuable metals can be extracted from waste streams and made available for reuse.
SELPAXT removes more than 90% of PFAS from water
Chromafora’s patent-pending SELPAXT technology for PFAS removal is based on a chemical innovation combined with membrane technology using ultrafiltration, where pollutants are selectively targeted and filtered out from the water. Read more on selpaxt.com
SELPAXT has demonstrated much higher reduction rates on more PFAS variants than other PFAS removal technologies on the market, capturing more than 90% of PFAS chains, both long and, otherwise hard to capture, short-chain PFAS. Compared with other, conventional methods such as activated carbon or ion exchange, The SELPAXT method is also more cost-effective and generates minimal waste; only 0.1% of the treated water volume.
Simplified SELPAXT process description:
SELPAXT benefits
Effective removal of short PFAS
Low energy consumption
Low residual waste ratio
Low overall TOC sensitivity
SELMEXT – selective removal of heavy metals from wastewater
The patented SELMEXT technology is selective for the metals/substances to be removed. This enables both an effective treatment to low residual levels and a minimal amount of waste. Leaving behind a high quality, particle free, water stream.
Solving the problems for industries
-
General metal separation or removal of toxic pollutants: To separate arsenic at the same time as removing positive metals is very difficult – but possible with SELMEXT.
-
Mining – Selective separation of Antimony (Sb): Single-metal separation. Only Antimony is subject to removal. Antimony is almost completely eliminated from the acid mine drainage.
-
Flue-gas condensate treatment in CHP plant: Using SELMEXT for robust removal of unwanted metals from condensate water. Treating 2,5 m3/h enabling re-use of permeate as process water.
Simplified SELMEXT process description:
SELMEXT benefits
Selective heavy metal separation
Reduced chemical consumption by 80%
Cost efficient
No hazardous chemicals used
