Pedaling Towards Progress: Chromafora on the Road to PFAS Solutions in Paris
This June, Paris becomes the European capital for PFAS action – and Chromafora will be there every step of the way. From gravel paths in Belgium to the podium at a global conference, two key events are putting Chromafora’s commitment to smart PFAS removal in the spotlight.
Johan Fahlström Joins REcycle2PARIS: Cycling Towards PFAS Solutions
Before the conference begins, the road to PFAS action quite literally starts in Zwijndrecht, Belgium. From June 14–16, 2025, Johan Fahlström, Sales Director at Chromafora, will join dozens of professionals from the Belgian waste and environmental sector in REcycle2PARIS — a three-day gravel cycling challenge covering 450 km to Paris.
But this is more than a ride. It’s a symbolic journey uniting a community of companies already working at the forefront of PFAS management — from remediation and analysis to policy, law, and recycling infrastructure. Riders include experts from Eurofins, Industrious Law, G.A. De Meuter, Denuo, Eurowaste, Galloo, Grondbank GMG, and others who collectively form the operational backbone of Europe’s PFAS treatment ecosystem.
“Participating in REcycle2PARIS is about showing that PFAS remediation isn’t an isolated effort — it’s an ecosystem. Engineers, lawyers, recyclers, and regulators are all part of the same solution.”
Johan Fahlström.
The ride ends where the PFAS 2025 conference begins — a seamless handoff from physical endurance to scientific exchange. And while the riders push limits on the road, they’re also raising funds for Cycle for Hope, a charity supporting children with cancer and their families.
It’s a powerful reminder: solving PFAS challenges in Europe will require endurance, collaboration, and care — both for people and the planet.

Dr. Karin Löfstrand Presents SELPAXT at the PFAS Conference in Paris
On Thursday, 19 June at 11:00, Chromafora’s Dr. Karin Löfstrand will present a new white paper detailing breakthrough results with SELPAXT, Chromafora’s patented PFAS removal technology, at the PFAS 2025 conference in Paris.
Her presentation will highlight full-scale, pilot-scale and benchtop tests showing up to 99% removal of both long- and short-chain PFAS from landfill leachate, groundwater, and industrial wastewater. The paper details how SELPAXT combines Surfactant-Ligand Assisted Membrane Filtration (SAMF) with auto-regeneration and high tolerance to co-contaminants — making it a scalable and sustainable solution for complex water streams.
“We’re seeing increasingly complex PFAS profiles in European wastewaters — particularly short-chain compounds and co-contaminants that limit the use of conventional technologies. This conference provides an opportunity to share practical data from our projects and discuss how selective membrane processes like SELPAXT can be applied in real-world conditions.”
Dr. Karin Löfstrand, R&D Manager at Chromafora.
Top 3 SELPAXT takeaways :
• Consistent high removal of short- and long-chain PFAS, even in difficult matrices
• Automatic regeneration and low waste volume for easier operation and disposal
• Adaptability for industrial, municipal, and landfill applications across Europe Connecting
Science, Sport, and Sustainability: A Shared European Journey
Together, these two events signal a broader shift in Europe’s PFAS response — one that values collaboration, innovation, and public engagement.
Whether through scientific excellence or sporting spirit, Chromafora is helping shape the future of PFAS remediation in Europe. From the bike trails of Belgium to the conference halls of Paris, the message is clear:
PFAS contamination is a complex challenge — but solutions exist. And we’re moving fast.
Will you be in Paris? We’d love to meet you! Whether you're attending the conference or supporting the ride, reach out to connect with the Chromafora team on-site.
Let’s talk science, technology – and how together we can turn PFAS removal into action.
