SELMEXT
Advanced selective metal extraction
The technology can be used to remove unwanted metals or recover valuable resources, with current development focused on gold, uranium, scandium and mercury.
Selectivity changes the process
Conventional metal treatment often separates several substances together, generating large amounts of sludge and potentially losing metals that still have economic value.
SELMEXT is designed around selective separation. The chemistry and process are adapted to the target metal and water matrix, allowing unwanted substances to be removed while other metals remain in solution – creating opportunities for both cleaner water and resource recovery.
Two objectives. One technology platform
Remove unwanted metals – selectively remove targeted metals from industrial water, mining effluents and other process streams, while limiting unnecessary separation.
Recover valuable metals – use the same selective approach to extract metals with economic or strategic value for further processing and reuse.
The SELMEXT process
How TS-SELMEXT works
Gold is first leached from ore or concentrate using a thiosulfate-based process. The resulting pregnant leach solution is then treated with proprietary SELMEXT chemistry to selectively recover the gold, ahead of cementation and doré production.
The process is designed to enable reuse of water, lixiviant, copper catalyst and SELMEXT reagent – important factors in improving overall process economics.

Where SELPAXT fits
Landfill
leachate
Treatment of PFAS-contaminated leachate with complex, variable water chemistry.
Industrial wastewater
PFAS removal from industrial process and wastewater streams.
RO reject
streams
Further concentration of PFAS-rich reject streams to reduce the volume requiring final destruction.
Contaminated groundwater
Treatment of PFAS-contaminated water from firefighting activities and training sites.
Proven in real water
SELPAXT has been demonstrated on several PFAS-contaminated water matrices, including landfill leachate, industrial wastewater, airport-related water and water from firefighting training grounds – with sustained reductions of more than 90% across multiple applications.

What does your PFAS water look like?
Every water stream is different. Water matrix, flow rate, PFAS profile and treatment requirements all influence the right solution. Share your water data with us, and we'll help determine whether SELPAXT is the right approach.
