SELMEXT removes heavy metals and arsenic from landfill leachate

Background

The waste management plant in Häradsudden needed water treatment for heavy metals. Ragn-Sells was evaluating conventional technologies but also wanted to compare it with SELMEXT.

Process

After evaluation and discussions with the customer, these are the steps we took together to reach full scale operation:

• On-site verification April 2020
• Full scale installation May 2021
• Targeted elements: Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Pb
• Installation scope: Pre-treatment, SELMEXT treatment,
  including full service operational commitment
• Treatment volume: 50,000 m³ per year

Results

• More than 65,000 m³ treated to date, with verified results
• Expansion of capacity to 90,000 m³ per year
• PFAS-treatment with SELPAXT to be added in 2024
