As Chromafora’s new Country Manager for Denmark, he’s ready to take on the challenge. He sees great potential in our PFAS and heavy-metal removal technologies, and in what they can do for the Danish market.** > *“Trust comes from listening first and delivering every time. In water treatment, that also means being honest about what a technology can and cannot do.”* **What first drew you to water technology?** It started when I was working on my master's thesis. I was employed at Biofos, a wastewater treatment plant in Copenhagen, where I was given the task of analyzing the plant myself and identifying optimization opportunities. **What made you interested in Chromafora?** I'm inspired by Chromafora's mission to redefine water treatment through innovative, sustainable chemistry. The chance to help bring technologies that remove PFAS and heavy metals to market, while enabling valuable resources to be recovered and reused, fits closely with my interest in environmental sustainability and scientific innovation. **What is your professional background?** I am a Marine Engineer with extensive experience in sales, business development, and leadership. Most of my career has been in sales, business development, and leadership, where I’ve learned that results come from strong teams and good customer relationships. **What do you think is the key to building strong customer relationships?** Customers need to feel that you understand their actual challenges before you start talking about solutions. Trust comes from listening first and delivering every time. In water treatment, that also means being honest about what a technology can and cannot do. **What will you focus on during your first months?** My priority will be listening and learning: getting to know the technology in depth, meeting the team, and understanding our customers' needs and pain points firsthand. From there, I want to build a clear roadmap — identifying where Chromafora’s solutions can create the most value, for customers and for the planet. **How would you describe the current state of water treatment in Denmark?** Denmark has a strong foundation — well-developed infrastructure, ambitious environmental regulation, and a high level of technical expertise at the treatment plants. At the same time, the sector faces growing pressure from emerging contaminants such as PFAS and from stricter discharge requirements, which existing treatment methods were not designed to handle. That combination of high standards and new challenges makes it an environment where genuinely better technologies have real room to make a difference. **What's your first impression of Chromafora now that you've joined?** My impression is of a company with a strong scientific core and a real sense of purpose. The technology is genuinely differentiated, and the team is both knowledgeable and committed to the mission. It feels like an organization at an exciting stage — where the science is proven and the task ahead is largely about scaling it and bringing it to the customers who need it. **What are you most looking forward to in your new role?** I'm most looking forward to being part of taking a technology from potential to real-world impact, seeing it implemented at treatment plants and knowing it makes a measurable difference to water quality. I'm also looking forward to building and leading a team and growing the commercial side of the business. **What do you enjoy doing outside work?** Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons. As a family, we share a passion for travelling, exploring new cultures, and discovering local cuisines wherever we go. In my spare time, I also enjoy fishing from my sea kayak, combining my love of the outdoors with the tranquility of being on the water. **Do you have a motto in life?** Yes, treat people the way you want to be treated yourself. For me, that covers both the professional and the personal side: honesty, respect, and doing what you say you will do, whether you're dealing with a customer, a colleague, or your own family.
