The European Commission’s "Mid-term review of the Zero Pollution Action Plan" has been presented, and it highlights Chromafora as an innovative and cost-effective environmental technology—a solution for the remediation of PFAS and other persistent substances.

The document is intended to evaluate progress towards the zero pollution goal by 2050 and to assess how far the EU has come in achieving the targets for 2030. It highlights remaining challenges, knowledge gaps, and the need for further action, while also showcasing innovations and case studies.

The spread of PFAS, particularly TFA, is identified as widespread and underestimated. It is noted that PFAS require advanced treatment and that their impacts on health and the environment are not yet fully understood.

It is clear that preventing PFAS emissions is a priority, but also that remediation and clean-up are essential where contamination has already occurred. This requires new technologies and cost-effective solutions, as PFAS are both persistent and mobile.

“We are proud that Chromafora has become a strong example of how we in the EU can develop competitive solutions and showcase Europe’s green industrial potential.”

Johan Seijmer, CEO of Chromafora.
