SELPAXT™ removes PFAS fom water
SELPAXT™ is Chromafora’s unique and patent-pending technology to remove PFAS from contaminated water by means of selective separation.
Chromafora’s SELPAXT technology for PFAS removal is based on a chemical innovation combined with membrane technology using ultrafiltration, where pollutants are selectively targeted and filtered out from the water.
SELPAXT has demonstrated much higher reduction rates on more PFAS variants than other technologies of PFAS removal on the market, capturing more than 90% of PFAS chains, both long and otherwise hard to catch short-chain PFAS. Compared with other, conventional methods such as activated carbon or ion exchange, Chromafora’s method is also more cost-effective and produce much less waste.
The current business model is provided as a service, is based on the treated water volume, and Chromafora is responsible for both the plant and its operation. There is currently no other proven solution for effective removal of both long and short PFAS in contaminated water.

PFAS in brief
PFAS are a family of more than 10,000 industrially manufactured persistent chemicals that do not break down completely in the environment. PFAS contamination, which originates from e.g. firefighting foam, packaging, impregnating agents and skin creams, have been detected in both drinking water and food, and studies have linked the substances to endocrine disorders, fertility problems and cancer. In other words, PFAS contamination in our environment is a clear and present threat to human health and must be taken care of.
